Description according to label:

Strong Orkney Ale. Orkney Blast - a world class strong ale. The name and label are derived from Orkney's WW2 forces newspaper which was printed in Kirkwall by the Orcadian newspaper which still prints today.

Appearance: pale and golden in colour.
Nose: rich, fruity malt, hints of yeast with earthy, woody hop with honey and alcohol notes.
Palate: generously malty with balanced spicy hop in the middle, leading to a lingering hop finish, with honeyed fruity malt and a hint of warming alcohol.
Summary: a stunning stronger ale in the true British fashion, with balanced flavours from Maris Otter malt and English & German hops early and late in the copper. One to take great care with, as it is so drinkable. Drink in place of wine with a meal - it accompanies most foods. Serve at 12° C or a wee bit cooler with seafood.

The cask version of this beer was Camra Champion Beer of Scotland 2010.
