Description according to label:

Avondale castle, as it was once known, dates from the 12th century as a permanent stone structure. Originally a stronghold of the Douglas family it became Avondale castle when it was rebuilt by Andrew Stuart, 1st Lord Avondale in 1458. Latterly it passed onto the Hamilton family and fell into disuse after the death of Duchesse Anne in 1716.

A distinctive session ale conceived by our head brewer Craig Buchanan. Amber in colour using a combination of Lager and Marris Otter malted barley flavoured with English and American hops. Moderate bitterness with a pleasant floral nose making an easy drinking ale.
